You will find a brochure produced by the Carins City Council and with the cooperation of the Cairns Historical Society and the Far North Queensland branch of the National Trust. With these three organizations working together you will find a comprehensive guide to the buildings and sites along the way. The Southern Heritage Drive will take approximately four hours to travel and is one hundred and eighty kilometers long. You begin the drive in Cairns at the Council Administration Building and then tour around Cairns, Edmonton, Gordonvale and Babinda. You can obtain the map and brochure for the Southern Heritage Drive from the Cairns Regional Council chambers or the Historical Society. The Stratford Heritage Trail takes you to twenty nine marked sites along the Kameruna Road. This walk has been an initiative of the Stratford and Freshwater Community Association.
