Cairns is set on the beautiful Trinity Beach, which was an area used for collecting supplies by Captain James Cook in 1770. Trinity Inlet was survey by a government expedition in 1873 and was given favorable reports. As with so many other famous areas of Australia, it was only when gold was discovered near by that the area reached its potential and Trinity Inlet was developed as a seaport. The Governor of Queensland, William Cairns, proclaimed Trinity Inlet a port settlement in 1876. Cairns grew and became a town in 1885 and then a city in 1923. But expansion became more rapid after the opening of the railway in 1924. Cairns has been a holiday favorite for many Australian families.

You can get to Cairns by boat, by train from Brisbane and other locations up the East Coast of Queensland, by car and by plane. If you are flying in from Brisbane you can expect that your flight will take around two hours. Choose a car rental company that operates from the Cairns Airport by using carrentalcairnsairport.com.au. The main commercial industry in Cairns is tourism. You will find the people friendly and helpful, and you will find that there is a great deal to see and do. A lot of tourists come to see the Great Barrier Reef and the Islands not too far off shore. Cairns has beautiful beaches that continue for around twenty six kilometers. Be aware of stingers, check the notice boards on the entry to beaches for warnings, buy the local paper for tide and stinger information, or talk to a life saver and ask his or her advice on swimming in the local beaches. It is always advised that you swim in patrolled beaches and stay between the flags. Remember to be sun safety conscience and use sunscreen regularly. Cover up when in the sun, buy using a hat and long sleeve shirt. It is import to be aware of local conditions when on holiday, one of the best ways to get a feel for a new area is to read the local paper.

Looking for car rental Cairns airport?

Cairns is the biggest city that is at the top end of Queensland and is located in a place where the weather is always hot even during the mid year cool months. But the heat is worth it if you are planning a holiday here because there are so many fun things to do and you can always cool off at one of the many nice beaches. Cairns is a place where you can find many tours of the surrounding area and all the local attractions. There are family tours and single tours or if you are on your honeymoon there are also some very romantic tours.

Take a hot air balloon over the mountain ranges or along the water front and see the sights as the birds do as they fly around this great country side. The rainforest tours are great fun to see the natural forests and the nocturnal night tours are a blast going out spotting the animals that prefer being awake at night. Cairns offers white water rafting, 4WD tours and even helicopter scenic flights but the one thing that always calls me when I holiday in Cairns is the Barrier Reef tour where you go out is a boat and snorkel around the reef coral.

Other tours include whale watching, ship wreck diving, overnight reef tours, sailing charters and much more. I like to hire a car from car rental Cairns airport to travel around at my own time and see the sights that I missed out on the last time around. I take a tent for camping and some of my fishing gear and make a good holiday adventure with the time that I have.

Try car rental Cairns airport

Tropical holidays speak for themselves whether you are on a secluded island or traveling to one of the nicest and well designed cities that Australia has to offer. Cairns is a city that can offer tropical holiday adventure any time of the year but is usually better appreciated during the mid year months when the temperature is not too hot. After all the holidays I have had in Cairns you might think that I would have had enough by now but I still love going back because I have always had fun there.

The first time I was there I was only a teenager and my friends and I spent most of our time riding the rental bikes around town looking for places to hang out. Now that I am older we rent a car from the car rental Cairns airport companies and then travel to all the tourist destinations in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle. A little luxury goes a long way especially on a hot day like they have that far north.

I’ve been on the helicopter tours of the islands and the mountains and I have ridden the train to the markets in the forest. I have surfed and swum around all the beaches and eaten in many of the fine restaurants that tropical Cairns has to offer. The sea food can’t be beaten and the lifestyle is just perfect so book yourself a holiday today to get a real idea of a tropical holiday.

Car rental Cairns airport agents helping you today

After living in Cairns for nearly all of my life I know what the meaning of humidity means. Hot summers are really hot and humid around Christmas time in cairns so when I go to visit my parents I always travel in winter time by train because it is much cooler in the months of June and July and the train is much cheaper than flying. Once I am there I collect my rental car from car rental Cairns airport and drive to my parents in the outer suburbs.

Even in winter time you can walk around in a singlet or t-shirt and short pants because it is still around twenty to twenty five degrees. The beaches are still open because the water is still very nice and warm so make sure you pay a visit to the water front while you are taking a holiday in Cairns. If you are brave enough you can try to travel to Cairns in summer time but know that I am acclimatized to the Brisbane weather Cairns summers are too hot for me.
